Day Three: Wheelchair Again

(I know I get a lot of pictures of her sleeping, but when all 4 babies are asleep, everything is so peaceful. It's the best time to move around the house snapping pictures. Look at her face in this one. You can see the inflammation around her eyes, and the puffiness of her red cheeks. That's part of the JIA.)

Well, she had two really great days, y'all. She walked all day those two days at school, or at doctor's appointments, she even got to play outside for a little bit one day. But her hip and knee started telling her "No" again and today she was wheelchair bound. :/

I'm just glad she had the two days she did get. Her usually perky, happy mood is changing a bit again. She's getting down and having a moment. She keeps telling us it's just not fair. I know it's to be expected, she's 10 years old and she has the problems of a much older person. She can't be a kid right now, and that's really hard for her.

Today, she stayed home from school (again), for doctor's appointments. She saw her new Pediatrician, who FINALLY gave her a prescription for a real pain medication that is not Ibuprofen!! Amen! The Pharmacy ordered it and she should have relief tomorrow evening sometime!! I am so happy. Day one with the new doc, big score of the brownie points with this Momma. He also ordered an x-ray of her wrist at our request, because I am a scatter-brained mess right now and messed up telling Johnnie to ask for an MRI. *ugh* Oh well, at least we know he will order the tests we ask for. That's a huge plus.
She also had an x-ray of her spine. I got to see the film and if I had to guess, I'd say she's going to come back with a 6 point curve. (Her older sister, Clara, has an 8 point curve.) It takes an 11 to be considered scoliosis. So she doesn't have that, but we have to wait to see what the doctor says.

Now her sister, Clara, is being tested for arthritis. Her knees were swollen and hurting her tonight. :( I hope it's growing pains.
